Anthropic Partner Academy prep courses are free for partners; the proctored exam registration fee is separate and set by Anthropic per certification. Public Claude Academy courses also offer free completion badges, which are not the same as the proctored Claude certifications. The Claude Model Certification Pathway is Anthropic's structured progression across four credentials: start with Claude Certified Associate – Foundations if you're a non-technical or semi-technical Claude user, move to Claude Certified Developer – Foundations if you build applications on the Claude API, and progress to Claude Certified Architect – Foundations and then Claude Certified Architect – Professional if you design production-grade, agentic Claude systems. Claude Certified Developer – Foundations (CCDV-F) is Anthropic's certification for engineers who build and ship production applications on the Claude API. It covers 8 domains — agents and workflows, applications and integration, Claude Code, evaluation and debugging, model selection, prompt and context engineering, security and safety, and tools and MCP — through 53 scored items in 120 minutes.

Claude Certified Associate – Foundations (CCAO-F) is Anthropic's entry-level certification for professionals who use Claude as a productivity tool — not developers writing code, but operations, marketing, project management, and communications professionals working with Claude Projects day to day. It covers 7 domains through 60 scored items in 120 minutes.

Yes. Every Claude certification issued by Anthropic — Associate, Developer, Architect, and Architect Professional — is valid for 12 months from the date it is awarded. To renew on time, review what has changed since certifying and complete a free, non-proctored assessment on the Anthropic Partner Academy. There is no fee for on-time renewal. If a credential lapses, the holder must retake the full exam at the full fee to regain certified status. If exam content changes significantly, Anthropic may require holders to retake the full exam to recertify rather than complete the renewal assessment.

Yes. Claude certification exams are open to people who work at organizations in the Claude Partner Network. Registration requires a company-domain email on the organization's partner record; personal emails will not work. Register and pay on the Anthropic Partner Academy, then schedule with Pearson. Regardless of exam access, the knowledge each certification tests is useful for building with Claude, which is why this platform's courses and practice content are free to everyone.
